Cracks get assessed rather than just filled. A hairline shrinkage crack is normal in a slab this age. One with a lip between the two sides, or one that has moved recently, is a different conversation and needs looking at before anything covers it.
It depends entirely on how far out the slab is, which is why we measure before giving a number. A slab that is close needs a bag or two of compound and an hour of grinding. One that has settled two inches across a corner is a real line item.
